272-Craypas Resist Banners or Pennants

Craypas Resist on Pellon (K- adult)

Aims:
 •To create individual works to glue onto to a background
•To (possibly) integrate other curriculum into your art lesson such as science, math, social studies, etc.

Materials & Tools:
white pellon (not glue kind)
craypas
watercolors
brushes, water can
scissors
newspaper to protect table

Procedure:
Cut pellon into a banner or pennant shape. Have a theme such as heritage, their name, symbols, etc. for the students to respond to. Draw, using pressure,
your design. Use lines, don’t color in. Paint watercolor over the craypas. (Oil repels water.)

Reflection:
These are beautiful hung in windows or in light.

Class Notes

There is no class on Monday the 8th--we meet on WEDNESDAY instead! Homework is as follows: 271--Finish your shape books and accordion book insides. We will put them together in class next Wednesday. Also, write out a short story that will make a three-four page pop-up book. It should have at least two characters that you can draw. 272--Finish your Facebooks. We will be working on drawing, painting and our self-portraits next time.

Homework for October 1st

271- You need to have written two stories to go into a shape book and an accordion book. Keep them short and simple. You can adjust them to the book formats once you begin making your books, but I want to make sure you have the ideas formulated ahead of time. Also bring in your early art memory for discussion. 272-Draw at least three different faces In your sketchbook journal to be made into a Facebook. We will also be making Moving Eyeball Portraits.
